The IT02 Error message tells you that the direct integrity test (DIT) of a system has failed. The control of the system will tell you, how high the rejection for bacteria and parasites is, which is left. It is shown either as a Log Removal Value (LRV, neg. decimal logarithm) or in %. The system needs to achieve a DIT result of 4 log or 99,99% or greater in order to meet the requirements of e.g. USA EPA Filtration Guidance manual or German DVGW W213-5.

Once IT02 occurs, the system goes into stop-mode, as required by regulation. If you operate a system with more than one filter cartridge (e.g. Virex Pro, Phoenix 7, Phoenix 10, Phoenix 20 or Phoenix 40) You have to then identify the damaged module and replace it. With Phoenix units the defect modules can be detected visually by monitoring the translucent drain connection (upper connection) for signs of air-bubbles. With Virex units damaged modules can be identified best acoustically (the defect module "bubbles"), either holding you ear against the module during a DIT or by using a stethoscope.
